Resurrection
Somehow back in 1999 or so I stumbled on a funny page on a Web site sponsored by a company called Christian Web Site Design. I linked to that
page, and all was well, because that page qualified as a Web Site I Like.
But in March of 2001 when I checked, the site was no longer up, and every time I checked
for almost a year I couldn't find it.
For a whole year that Web Sites I Like link made no sense. And I was shamed. But I had hope. I had hope that sometime, somehow,
somewhence I would be saved. And I was. It turns out there's an organization, INTERNET ARCHIVE,
that's been quietly storing Web pages going back as far as 1996. If you want to see an October 18, 1996, version of microsoft.com, they've got one.
Update of February 27, 2002: And lo archive.org did have a version of the very "Terms and Conditions" Web page I had lost for a whole year.
Hallelujah. I reproduce it below for your bemusement. (The INTERNET ARCHIVE page from which the below derives is HERE.)
Update of November 6, 2003: If you are tempted to check whether there's a current Web site with the original URL,
there is. I recommend against going there, because it seems to me to behave quite badly. If you wish to see whether I'm being paranoid
about viruses and evil pop-ups and Trojan Horses and so on, and if you wish to go against my advice, I provide this link in a non-clickable form,
which you must slightly decode and manually type into your browser. It is as follows:
christian web site design [dot] com, with no spaces.
To repeat, do not go to the URL immediately above unless you feel confident you and your system can repel any untoward encroachment. No
kidding.
Now, as promised, immediately below is a literal transcription of that funny page as it appeared prior to February of 2001.

Statement of Faith
If you agree with our Statement of
Faith you can qualify for our discounted prices on services.
We realize that the "Body of Christ" is made up of many
members ..
"The body is a unit, though it is made up of many parts; and
though all it's [sic] parts are many, they form one body. So it is with
Christ."
1 Cor. 12:12
Our heart cry is for a "love and unity in the body
of Christ that knows no denominational barriers"...
We profess and believe the following :
-
The Holy Scripture:
-
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of
God, equal in all parts, and it totally inerrant in the original
manuscripts. We further believe it is the supreme revelation
though not necessarily contrary to them. It is, therefore,
our center around the Lord Jesus Christ, and therefore, no portion
is properly read nor understood until it leads Him. (John 5:38; 2
Tim. 3:16-17; 1 Peter 1:23 - 2:15; Heb. 4:12)
-
The Trinity:
We believe in the one true God, revealed in the
Scriptures as Father, Son and Holy Spirit, and that the Father, Son
and Holy Spirit have the same nature, purpose and perfection.
Thus, all are worthy of the same homage and obedience. (Deut. 6:4;
Matt. 28:19; Mark 12:29; John 1:14; Acts 5:33-34; 2 Cor. 13:14; Heb.
1:1-3; Rev. 1:4-6)
-
God the Father
-
We believe "God the Father, Almighty, Maker
of heaven and earth, and of all things, visible and
invisible." (Nicene Creed). We believe that His person,
nature and attributes are revealed throughout the Scriptures.
(Gen. 1:26-272:4, 15:2, 17:1, 49:25; Ps. 91:1; Gen. 14:17-24;
Deut. 32:8; Eph. 1:9, Gen. 21:33, Heb. 1:12, Deut. 32-20; I John
4:16; Deut. 32:4; Is. 9:6)
-
The Lord Jesus Christ
-
We believe in the preexistence, incarnation and
virgin birth of the Lord Jesus Christ who came into the world to
reveal the Father and that He is the brightness of His glory and
the express image of His person. We believe that the Lord
Jesus Christ was the Creator of all things, for by Him the worlds
were made. We believe that in Christ dwelt all the fullness
of the Godhead bodily , and the He was very God and very man.
(Rom. 1:16; 5:12-21; 1 Cor. 15:1-4; 2 Cor. 4:3-4)
-
Christ redeeming love and salvation;
-
We believe that man by willful transgression fell
from the state of righteousness and holiness in which he was first
created in total spiritual depravity, a state of death in
trespasses and sins in which he is held slave of sin and an enemy
of God. Man is unable to attain divine righteousness by his
own efforts, but must be redeemed and delivered by the power of
the Gospel. (Rom. 1:16; 5:12-21; 1 Cor. 15:1-4; 2 Cor.
4:3-4)
-
Salvation Only through Christ
-
we believe that repentance and faith toward
our Lord Jesus Christ produces the work of justification in
the believer through the shed blood of Jesus Christ, the full
and final payment for all sin forever. Due to universal
spiritual death through sin, no one can enter the Kingdom of
God unless he is born of the Spirit. we also believe
that our redemption has been accomplished solely by the shed
blood of our Lord Jesus Christ who died as our substitute.
(Rom 5:1; Eph. 2:8)
