This is part of a half-page ad that ran in the December 1, 2003, edition of The Kansas City Star. Forget that "Save" should not be capitalized. Forget that "computer adjustable" should be hyphenated. Forget that "35% off on" is a humorously awkward juxtaposition of words. No, what's wrongest about this sentence is the phrase "Save 35% off." You can save 35%, and you can get 35% off, but you can't save 35% off. |
